| Extending this weeks theme of Contact Management
solutions, is our special story on AddressGrabber. Those who actively exchange
contacts information between their Series 5 and PC may find this product
useful for easily creating new contacts - especially from e-mail signature
files. AddressGrabber Ideal Way To Grab Names & Info Quoted from Widget News: AProdEx Technologies Inc. Wednesday unveiled AddressGrabber, a software utility that allows PC users to easily capture addresses from anywhere in their system -- e-mail, Web sites, word processors, spreadsheets, databases, PDAs, digital phonebooks, etc. -- and "intelligently" transfer them to another program with just one mouse click. AddressGrabber eliminates re-typing addresses that already exist in the user's computer by "intelligently" performing field-to-field transfers. The program automatically captures the name, company, title, full street address, phone, fax, e-mail address, and other necessary information from the PCs screen with one mouse click; then transfers them into the corresponding fields of the application, database or address book represented by the icon on AddressGrabber's "floating application iconbar." "No other application provides users with the ability to import addresses from text documents or provides an instant one-record transfer," said Chandra Bodapati, president of ProdEx Technologies. "Most applications provide a multi-step import/export feature for moving addresses, but they are cumbersome, and very few, if any, allow the user to transfer addresses from various sources automatically without retyping them. "With the exchange of addresses via e-mail and Web surfing on the rise, we feel the one-click address transfer will be an invaluable corporate tool," stated Bodapati. In addition to its ability to print envelopes and Avery mailing labels, AddressGrabber can provide multiple return addresses, choosing the appropriate one at the time of printing. With one mouse click, it can also automatically dial the telephone number of any contact using MS Dialer. AddressGrabber automatically senses which program is currently selected on the user's desktop and displays its name in the source window of the floating iconbar. When users are ready to transfer the current selected address, they simply click the corresponding program icon on the iconbar and the address is transferred. The iconbar is easily customized by adding and removing icons as needed, making the iconbar smaller, moving it on the screen or hiding it within the taskbar tray icon. AddressGrabber supports more than 30 applications including: ACT!, GoldMine®, Maximizer, Outlook®, Lotus Organizer, Eudora Pro, financial accounting applications such as QuickBooks, shipping applications such as FedEx and UPS Ship, MS Word, Excel and Dialer, WinFax, WordPerfect, cc:Mail, vCard, Janna, CardScan, 88 Million/CD USA, MAPI address books, Web browsers Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer, Palm®Pilot, Windows CE/Outlook®, and Seiko Instruments' Smart Label Printers and Smart Business Card Readers. Available immediately, AddressGrabber is sold in three versions. The economical $29.95 version allows addresses to be captured from any text document and transferred into one other user configurable address book program. The Standard package for $49.95 supports address transfers to and from multiple applications and address books. The full-featured AddressGrabber Business is priced at $99.90, and includes additional support for QuickBooks, and FedEx and UPS Ship applications. -- Ends -- |
