  3) Write Effective Headlines

A headline that grabs attention is essential for the success of any advertisement. A good headline is one that makes the reader want to learn more by reading the rest of the advertisement, sales letter, brochure or web page.

The headline should focus on your customers and not your product. Keep the headline short, simple and direct. Ideally, a headline should have only seven words or less.

Always use active voice and present tense when writing a headline. Remember that complicated words can never make an appealing headline. Make sure you also have a well-written copy to go with your selling headline.

  4) The Power of Networking

Having a large network of contacts often distinguishes a top salesman from an average one. The more people you have in your network, the higher are your chances of success.

Developing a strong professional network takes more than just handing out business cards. To start with, develop deeper relationships with the people in your existing network - this can include customers that you have had in the recent days. Find out what you can do to support their business. You'll soon find them doing things to support your business.
