Upselling
to Increase Profits |
|
| |
Upselling is an effective way to increase revenue. Value-added
upselling offers that are focussed on customer needs not only
increase sales but also customer satisfaction. This finally
results in repeat business and referrals. Keep in mind, that
customers respond positively only when upselling is done with
an “extra service” attitude.
Timing is crucial for upselling to be successful. Present
your upselling offer before the customer reaches the register.
If you are selling online, upsell when the visitor orders
the product and not during the payment process. Successful
upselling requires planing. Focus on upselling and you will
be selling more to each customer.

Recapturing
Lost Customers |
|
| |
Customers will forget you, if you forget them. Your chances
of selling successfully to your former customer are high than
to a new customer. It is therefore very important to plan a
strategy to regain your lost customers.
Collect contact and transaction information from all your customers.
Check periodically to ensure that all your customers are still
buying from you. Contact customers who had not transacted with
you and let them know that they are missed. Make an attractive
offer or discounts to lure them back. You will be surprised
to see your sales soaring!
