  Find Anything, Anywhere in ACT!

The ‘Keyword Search’ feature allows you to search for anything in an ACT! database. Here's how:

1. Select Lookup >> Keyword Search. The Keyword Search box pops up.
2. In the ‘Search for’ field, type the keyword you would like to find.
3. Select the areas of the database you'd like to search. (You can search through contacts, groups and companies. You can also look in the activities, opportunities, histories, notes and fields areas of ACT!.)
4. Select whether to search through all records, the current record or the current lookup.
5. Click Find Now.
6. The results of the keyword search will appear in the lower part of the Keyword Search dialog box.
7. Click Create Lookup to view the results of the keyword search in the Contact view.

Free Duplicate Analyzer for ACT!

  Find Duplicates that ACT! Cannot

I know that I have set filters in ACT! to alert me on duplicates. But now, I see there are many duplicates in my ACT! database that seemed to have mutely grown over a period of time. How do I get rid of these duplicates?

Duplicate records are normally created in a database through many ways. It can happen when you

1. Import contacts from multiple sources such as online directories, 3rd party lists, etc.
2. Import contacts from other legacy databases.
3. Enter contacts manually.

Now, before you know, your database would have grown big and so also the minor variations in duplicates, which have escaped your regular duplicate filters that you may have set. Some of these variations are

- Spelling/Typo errors (Evan Wistar = Ewan Wystar)
- Company Abbreviations (HP = Hewlett Packard Inc.)
- Common Nicknames (Dr Robert Hicks = Bob Hicks)
- Mis-mapped fields while importing (First Name = Last name; Last name = First Name)
- Same contact having different addresses and many more...

eGrabber DupChecker provides you an easy way to find all such subtle variations of duplicates that generally go unnoticed in your database. It also automatically groups duplicates for merging and de-duping.

After importing any list into ACT!, run DupChecker on your database. The patent pending "fuzzy logic technology" built into DupChecker lists all potential duplicates in your ACT! at one go. It also allows you to do an auto merge of all the duplicates.

Test run DupChecker on your database or call Sam today at (408) 516-4579 for a product demo.

Show Genuine Care for your Customers

Building relationships is one of the key areas that separate average performers from successful sales people. Care for your customers genuinely and understand that they buy from those they trust and respect. Build trust by being earnest and sincere in your approach.

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes. Ask the right questions to find out customer pain points and make each customer feel important by listening carefully to what they have got to say.

High energy or enthusiasm does not always ensure a sale. By showing that you genuinely care for your prospects and customers, you can connect with them in no time.

Maintain the Right Attitude for Selling

The attitude of a sales person is often based on how well things are going for him. If he is making good sales, his attitude is great; when things go wrong, so does his attitude.

Successful sales people realize that maintaining the right attitude always is critical to their success. They do this by controlling the environment they sell in. So, expect that you are going to hear a lot of NO's. Instead of losing heart, learn from every sales call - lost or won. Be motivated by each sales call. By doing this, you keep your confidence high and will continue to prosper.
