2 Keys to Achieve your Sales Targets in 2010

Here are 2 tips that we have heard many times before, but many of us don’t follow them consistently.

1. Use Social Media to expand your reach: Plan and invest time to prospect for new businesses everyday. Do not rely on existing customers or the few inquiries that come your way. Use social media, especially LinkedIn, to reach out to new customers.
2. Improve your Value Proposition: Regularly work on your value proposition and selling points to meet the changing expectations of customers in your target market. Work on high impact questions that can lead your prospects to appreciate your value proposition.

  Respond Effectively to Negotiation Tactics

Though the signs of economic recovery are strong, the pressure to reduce costs remain and so customers continue to squeeze sales people for discounts and concessions.

Here are 2 things you can do to avoid mistakes and respond strongly when negotiating with customers:

1. Think value: Whenever your customer asks for a discount, think about the value that your product brings to your customers.
2. Don’t concede too much, too soon: Never rush in with offers and discounts. Is there something that the customer can do for you? Can she use her social media reach to benefit your company or product?

These can help you avoid common mistakes that sales people make during negotiations and minimize damage.
