What is eGrabber ResumeFinder?

eGrabber ResumeFinder 2008 enables you to search for potential resumes in Google with different search techniques. You can search for resumes in Google search engine and Google desktop.

You can customize the settings to provide your requirements like location, resume portals, default keywords and logic to be followed while searching for resumes.

I can search for resumes in Google™. Why should I go for eGrabber ResumeFinder?

When you search for resumes in Google with a keyword, the search results return not only resumes but also other documents and websites that may just contain the keyword. You need to go through the millions of search results to spot the resumes.

eGrabber ResumeFinder contains powerful Resume Search Logics that look up only for resumes in the websites. In addition, you can confine the search by providing specific location, resume portals and search logic so that you get more effective results.

What is meant by search logic?

Whenever you search for resumes, you need to provide a set of queries to get accurate results. For example, if you need resumes that contain keywords 'Java, C++', from specific resume portal and from specific location, you need provide the search query accordingly.

ResumeFinder provides a script file with extension .ess that contains a set of search queries to be executed. You can select the script file that contains relevant queries and ResumeFinder searches for resumes by following the logic provided in the selected script file.

You can create script files with your own logic in addition to the default script files that come along with ResumeFinder.

How do I create script files?

You do not need any programming knowledge to create script files. When you create a script file, a notepad file opens with the default parameters required. You need to fill in the details.

Then provide the scripting commands that are unique for a certain search and save the file. Refer to ResumeFinder Help for details about the scripting commands.

Do I need any special training to use the software?

eGrabber ResumeFinder comes with online help, which is very simple and self-explanatory. You can contact the support team if you need any clarification.

When I try to launch ResumeFinder, I get an error message as 'Internet Explorer will open only on Administrator mode'.

When you are using Windows Vista, you need to open Internet Explorer in the Administrator mode. Right-click Internet Explorer application and click 'Run as Administrator'.

To open Internet Explorer by default in the Administrator mode, Right-click Internet Explorer application, click 'Properties'. In the Properties window, click the 'Advanced' tab and select 'Run as Administrator'.

Now you can launch ResumeFinder.

What are the System Requirements to install eGrabber ResumeFinder?

If you have provided a valid email ID at the time of downloading the product, you receive your License Key at your email ID. After installation, the eGrabber™ Product Registration window appears. Enter the License Key in the space provided and click Register Now.

Click Continue to start using the product.

Once your trial version expires, you cannot use it again. However, you can contact our customer support and extend the trial version period.

I have purchased a License Key. How long can I use ResumeFinder?

If you have purchased the License Key, you can use ResumeFinder for one year. The software expires in one year after the date of registration. After expiration, you can upgrade the key by visiting http://www.egrabber.com/resumefinder/upgrades.html.

I have purchased the License Key. How do I activate eGrabber ResumeFinder with this key?

After installation, ResumeFinder is added as a toolbar to Internet Explorer.

To register the software, click Tools > Register in the ResumeFinder toolbar.

The eGrabber™ Product Registration dialog box appears on your screen.

Type or paste the License Key under "Please type or paste your License Key here" and click Register Now. The message "Successfully Registered" appears under Status. Now click Continue and start using the software.

I am not able to register the product. What could be the problem?

  • Check whether you have entered the License Key properly. You can copy and paste the License Key to avoid typing errors.

  • Ensure that you are connected to Internet at the time of registering the product.

  • The other problems are, your Internet connection may be slow, or the server may be busy. In these circumstances, check the Internet connection and try registering after some time.

Can I use eGrabber ResumeFinder in multiple systems?

If you want to use the product in multiple systems, you need to purchase multiple licenses. Contact our customer support to get multiple licenses. If you want to use the product in another system with the same license key, follow the steps:

  • Unregister the product in System A.
  • Install and register in System B.

I upgraded my system to higher configuration. How to install and register eGrabber ResumeFinder in the upgraded system with the same license key?

Note down your License Key number.

  • Unregister the product.

  • Upgrade your system.

  • Install the Product and Register again.

If you do not unregister the product, it is not possible to register again.

My hard disk crashed and I was not able to unregister the product. How do I register now?

In such exceptional cases, you can contact our customer support to obtain a new license key. Your former license key would be revoked and using this key in future would violate the terms of License Agreement.

Note: We recommend you to have a Backup of the software in a CD or in another system to avoid such discrepancies.
