Anne Chilcott, Director of Operations, Gardensoft says "We use QuickBooks for our bookkeeping and ACT! for our contact management. Both programs have identical entry information".
Anne handles a lot of roles in the company such as sales, marketing, order fulfillment, first line technical support. all of them which involves Data Entry. "Contact data entry and management is very important to us because our entire business is built around our leads and customers. And we can't afford to miss out on any single contact. Our customers and their contact information are the most important assets to our company," says Anne.
"As GardenSoft grew larger in its customer base, it became increasingly difficult to manage the contacts. My main problem was that I was typing all critical contact details such as names, titles, company names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, website addresses. all of them TWICE! I used to spend a minimum of 1 hour every day manually entering contacts"
Slowly and gradually, work started piling up for Anne. Her other tasks were tardy in completion because of the workload. This, Anne soon realized, was not a good sign by any means. She could foresee that end result would be either increased cost - if she chose to hire an extra person for data entry, or reduced customer satisfaction because of pending work.
That was the time when Mark Chilcott, the Director of Engineering, who was aware of Anne's problem, sought the help of his all time friend - Mr. Google!

I took notes on how to use AddressGrabber but I don't even have to refer to them after the second time of using the software; it is logical and simple to use".
