In my eMail-Lead Grabber I see 25 email messages in Inbox and a Sample Template under eMail-Lead Grabber SLX folder to the left! What is its purpose?
The Sample template has been designed to extract data from the Sample email messages with the subject "WRG Test". The Sample email messages and the Sample template are provided to let you have a picture about the product. You can start using the product by transferring the Sample email messages through the Sample template to the SalesLogix database. Refer Quick Start Guide for more information.
How do I download a sample email in my Inbox?
Go to http://www.egrabber.com/wrgtest.htm and fill up the sample form. Enter your email address in the form and click Submit. When you check for new mail, the email response from the web form is downloaded in your Inbox in eMail-Lead Grabber.
The error message "Cannot connect" is displayed in the Status Report when I check for new mail? What should I do?
Check the server settings entered in Personality Settings dialog for POP3/IMAP. When you enter the host name in the Personality Settings dialog for POP3 or IMAP, and if you have a dialup connection then you can give either the server IP address or the host name in the Incoming Server/Host Name/Outgoing Server box. If you use a proxy server then enter the proxy server settings.
Example: A Host Name can be esales.com or IP address is 192.168.23.2.
How do I send mail?
SMTP is used to send mail. You need to enter SMTP server address details the POP3 / IMAP Personality Settings.
Note: If your SMTP server requires authentication use More Settings option to select appropriate settings.
What should I do when I do not have POP3 mail server?
In case you don't have a POP3 account, then you can use IMAP OR Scan Outlook Mailbox OR to get email into eMail-Lead Grabber.
How do I configure to MS Exchange server in eMail-Lead Grabber?
If you choose to download email from MS Exchange server then you can choose any of the following options:

- If you have already configured to MS Exchange through Outlook then create a Scan Outlook Mailbox personality and import new email into eMail-Lead Grabber
How do I print an email?
Select the email in the list view and click Print button or select print from file menu. You can also print the email by selecting Print from the right click option in the email preview pane.
I want to send auto responses to the leads who have submitted the form. When I use stationery all the mails are being sent to one single email address?
When you use stationery to send auto responses for incoming email, they are sent to the 'from address' of the incoming email. In this case all the email coming from the web form seems to be having the same 'from email address'. For this you need to use Mail Merge Template to send auto responses. The mail merge template will extract data in the email, create an email merge auto response and send it.
Why are the email sent using email merge template not shown in the eMail-Lead Grabber Outbox?
At present email generated by email merge template are not stored in Outbox. In the next version they will be available for viewing in the Outbox.
What is the difference between Stationery and an Email Merge template when they both send auto responders?
Stationery can be used to send a default standard email response to all the email; whereas Email Merge template can send personalized email responses using the values in the email or set in the template.
I do not remember the email account settings, can eMail-Lead Grabber import settings from my existing email software?
Yes, eMail-Lead Grabber can import email settings from your existing email software (Microsoft Outlook, OutlookExpress, Eudora) and create an email personality in eMail-Lead Grabber. Just use Import Mail Account wizard while creating email account. You will need to provide only the password while using the wizard.
Should I keep my SalesLogix database open when I transfer web-form-email?
It is not necessary to keep your SalesLogix database open during transfer. You can transfer web-form-email to SalesLogix without keeping database open. But if you have set eMail-Lead Grabber to attach Process/run Scripts for the contact created/updated, you will need SalesLogix to be open to run these processes and scripts.
Why are certain fields in my email not getting transferred?
The template must have all the fields present in the email response. Make sure the sample email response you have chosen to create the template has all the fields. Add the missing fields to your template, mark them as Anchor text, do Insert into fields and try again.
When I update or make changes to my SalesLogix database how do I update my database configuration & fields in my template?
When you make changes to your SalesLogix database you need to refresh your template. To do this on View menu click Refresh Database. When you refresh your template the form tags in the template should be remapped to the SalesLogix database user defined fields.
Why is the inserted SalesLogix database field underlined in my template?
When you set properties for a field then the field appears underlined in the template.
Why is a number displayed next to the inserted SalesLogix database field in my template?
After you insert a particular database field in the template, if you remove the field and insert it again then the field is numbered in the template. It starts with number 1 and as you repeat the same process the number gets incremented. This will not have any impact when you transfer web-form-email to SalesLogix.
All the fields in my template are present in the email responses, but data is going into the wrong fields. Why is this happening?
This can happen if your template mappings are not correct. Edit your template and check the Anchor tags and Field map.
Sometimes the field name and its value get added to the previous field value in the destination application. Why is this happening?
If your email has more than one field value coming in the same line, this can happen. To avoid this set 'End Before/Start After' properties for the field in your template.
Can I process forwarded email messages using eMail-Lead Grabber SLX?
Yes, you can transfer forwarded/ re-directed messages from Eudora, Outlook and Outlook Express. Support on this feature is being added to other email clients too.
Why do I get this message "Incomplete Template..." ?
In the template if you have "auto detect business card details" alone and when you save it, you would get a message "Incomplete template". You can ignore it and proceed.
This message will also appear when the template doesn't have at least one anchor text in the Template. Insert an appropriate anchor text and then save the template.
Sometimes after transferring to the fields, I notice lines below the data. Where are these lines coming from?
These lines may be present in the email but not in the template or the lines could be present in the template but not marked as ignore text in the template. Selecting the lines and marking them as ignore text can solve this. The other solution is to first select each field and in Properties, enter Number of lines / Number of characters, so that only the text is picked up and not the line.

When I organize my email attachments in respective folders in my system using the "Attach Source" template process" can I attach the same in my SalesLogix database?
In the "Attach Source' process of the template you specify the folders and the attachment naming conventions to store email attachments in your system. When you transfer web-form-email containing attachments then this attachment is stored in the specified folder. Also it is placed as link in the Attachment section of your SalesLogix database.
I have setup a process (generate ticket numbers) in my template. But after transfer, I don't see ticket numbers transferred to my database. What is the problem?
When you create processes in your template you must ensure that you do the following:
1. If the process dialog displays the Enable checkbox, then click the checkbox.
2. After you save the process click the checkbox provided next to the process name.
3. Save the template.
How can I avoid junk/ unwanted email getting processed through my Template?
There are two ways to do this:
(a) Set filters in eMail-Lead Grabber to filter and transfer selected messages to Templates.
(b) Set a Mark Form Identifier in Templates.
