Transfer addresses to multiple address books with one simple mouse click.

AddressGrabber by ProdEx Technologies is a software that allows Windows users to easily capture addresses from anywhere in their system - e-mail, websites, word processors, spreadsheets, databases, PDAs, digital phonebooks, etc. - and "intelligently" transfer them to another program with just one mouse click.

It is relatively straightforward to use this application. To start, when the AddressGrabber is installed, it will automatically detect all address books in your PC and put them into a movable toolbar on your desktop.

When any address is required from PC applications (say, from a homepage) all you have to do is to select the contact information and then click on the button signifying the address book that you want the information to be stored.

Another cool feature is that the program automatically captures the name, company, title, full street address, phone, fax, e-mail address, and other necessary information from the PC's screen and transfers them into the corresponding fields of the application, database or address book represented by the icon on AddressGrabber iconbar.

How else should this benefit PDA users? For Palm®Pilot converts, AddressGrabber will make it a whole lot easier to transfer address book information from alternative organisers into the Palm® Desktop application for hot sync into the Palm® device itself later. This would certainly save a lot of time from having to key in all contact information again.

We tried out this application for 2 weeks and found that it certainly made address transferring a whole lot quicker. The allocation information into the correct field area is still a little imperfect but generally, it worked satisfactorily.

AddressGrabber is available free for a first trial month and if you want to buy this application, you have the choice of three versions. The economical $29.95 version allows addresses to be captured from any text document and transferred into one other user configurable address book program. The Standard package for $49.95 supports address transfers to and from multiple applications and address books. The full-featured AddressGrabber Business is priced at $99.90, and includes additional support for QuickBooks, and FedEx and UPS Ship applications.
