How to attract interest from Industry Influencers

Do you need to get visibility from Bloggers, News writers, Venture Capitalists, Influencers, Industry Experts… ?

That’s a lot of work on LinkedIn… Unless you have TouchPoint!

In this post, we are going to setup TouchPoint to attract the attention of Industry Experts and Influencers. You will get inbound connection requests. Besides that, the next time you write to them or phone them, you have an astronomically higher chance of getting a reply.

Before we solve this problem with TouchPoint, make sure you’ve completed this LinkedIn profile prep. Make sure to use a punchy headline which is laser focused on the influencers you are trying to attract!

How it works

We are going to use TouchPoint to leave an impression of your photo and headline in the LinkedIn profile of your target Experts and Influencers.

After you leave an impression 2-3 times in a couple of weeks, they will take notice of you.

In fact, when you show up so many times on their LinkedIn, they are bound to be curious about you – just what you need to get an appointment!

Let’s add your Industry Experts to TouchPoint

  1. Open a new browser tab in TouchPoint. Go to LinkedIn.
  2. Search for your prospects in LinkedIn. Here’s a LinkedIn Sales Navigator search which shows LinkedIn Experts. Here is another search which shows a list of Angel Investors.
  3. Once your search is ready, click the TouchPoint toolbar button “Add to Campaign”. It will be in the top-center of the screen.
  4. In the dialog that pops up, choose the Campaign to add the search to. Let’s choose the “Untitled Campaign #1”. Then click the “Add” button.
  5. Pro tip: Rename your Campaign name to “INFLUENCER”, so that when you look at the Visit-Back report, you will easily be able to identify that you need to take action. To rename a campaign, click the pencil icon next to the Campaign name, like so:

What’s Next?

TouchPoint will begin visiting the profiles of your influencers. Up to 400 profiles a day.

You will find your visit-backs in either of these two places:

Hold on. The sample search (given above) has 1000+ profiles. So what happens to the profiles after 400?

TouchPoint remembers which profiles it has visited. It stops itself after 400. And re-starts the next day from 401.

So does this mean TouchPoint will take 3 days to leave impressions on 1.000 profiles? Yes, you’re right. It’s good not to get too many people in the door in one day!

If your LinkedIn photo and headline are set up right, and your target market is right, you should see your influencers visiting you back within a few hours. Else within a couple of days.

You should engage those visit-backs with a connect request and a custom message.
